Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper Detail Ryan Seacrest Texts on New Year’s Eve

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper closed out 2025 and welcomed 2026 with their annual CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live special.

The Bravo star, 57, and the journalist, 58, cohosted the broadcast from New York City’s Times Square for the ninth consecutive year on Wednesday, December 31.

“Bottoms up: This is tequila!” Cohen declared before doing a shot with Cooper to open the show. Afterward, the cohosts spoke about 2025 highlights, including a trip to Disneyland with their kids and watching Cher perform during an event for Saturday Night Live‘s 50th anniversary.

“Cher called me a couple weeks ago,” Cooper said, to which Cohen replied, “Did she ask for me?”

Cooper jokingly recalled Cher saying of Cohen, “How’s that troublemaker?”

The cohosts also mentioned Ryan Seacrest, who hosts Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC.

“Did Ryan call you … or text you today?” Cooper asked Cohen, who responded, “He texted me, like, yesterday or the day before.”

Cooper said that Seacrest had texted him that morning. In past years, he noted, Seacrest had sent him gifts.

“Like, a photo of himself?” Cohen asked.

“No,” Cooper said, adding that Seacrest had previously sent him tequila.

The longtime pals also discussed the hit hockey romance series Heated Rivalry, with Cohen telling Cooper, “Of the two of us, you’re Ilya and I’m Shane.”

“What?!” Cooper replied.

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper Return to Ripping Shots on CNN NYE Special

In addition to Cohen and Cooper’s signature banter, CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live featured performances by Robyn, Shakira, Brandy and Monica, Bryan Adams, Florence + The Machine, Raye, Brandi Carlile, Aloe Blacc, Patti LaBelle and Michelle Williams and special appearances by Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell, B.J. Novak, Leanne Morgan and Sarah Sherman.

Since Cohen joined the broadcast as Cooper’s cohost in 2017, the CNN New Year’s Eve special has consistently made headlines, perhaps most notoriously when the network banned the duo from drinking after Cohen shaded then-New York City mayor Bill de Blasio and Seacrest during the 2021-2022 show.

“Watching Mayor de Blasio do his victory lap dance after four years of the crappiest term as the mayor of New York — the only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been,” Cohen said at the time. “So sayonara, sucka. 2022! It’s a new year because guess what? I have a feeling I’m gonna be standing right here next year, and you know who I’m not going to be looking at dancing as the city comes apart? You!”

Cohen was similarly critical of the Seacrest-hosted Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

“If you look behind me, you’ll see Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers performing. … I’m sorry but if you’re watching ABC, you’re watching nothing,” he quipped. “We were doused with confetti from fake Journey on ABC. If it’s not Steve Perry, it doesn’t count! You get it? It’s not Journey! It’s propaganda! It’s propaganda! It’s not Journey! It’s not Journey! No, that was not Journey. Steve Perry is Journey.”

Cohen later apologized to Seacrest, 51, and the two made amends. Cohen and Cooper were still banned from drinking during the 2022-2023 broadcast, but their tequila shots tradition returned the following year.

Prior to the 2025-2026 show, Cooper and Cohen reflected on their favorite memories from their years of cohosting the New Year’s Eve special.

“We can’t talk about New Year’s Eve without talking about your many, many occasions of being in a puddle of giggles,” Cohen told Cooper in a CNN video earlier this month. “I say to people my job is to make you laugh on New Year’s because people love to hear you laugh. And I think God bless you for the work you do all year long. You’re keeping ‘em honest right here on CNN, and this is your time and all of our time to let loose and enjoy.”

Elementary Teacher Who Sent Teen 35K Texts in 3 Months Cries in Court

A recently engaged Wisconsin woman will spend the next six years in prison after allegedly admitting to kissing an 11-year-old boy in her classroom — and later sending him 35,000 explicit text messages.

Madison Bergmann, 26, was working as a fifth grade teacher at River Crest Elementary School in Hudson, Wisconsin, until the victim’s father discovered the deluge of texts.

The boy’s dad told the court during Bergmann’s sentencing on Friday, December 19, that he found the messages “disturbing.”

The messages were sent over just three months, meaning she sent an average of over 2,000 messages to the victim every day. In the texts, Bergmann allegedly professed her affections for the boy and expressed her eagerness at touching him and “making out” with him again.

Her former coworker at the school, Abigail Faust, is also facing charges for inappropriate relationships with children, including a child whom she nannied in Washington County.

Bergmann pleaded guilty to one count of child enticement and two counts of sexual misconduct by school staff back in September.

After the father brought the text messages to the police, officers searched her classroom and found a folder with the victim’s name on it containing handwritten love letters that indicated they had kissed.

Bergmann was supposed to get married in 2024. It is unclear when she got engaged.

Former Teacher Accused of Having Unlawful Sexual Relations with Student

She started to cry as soon as she entered the courtroom for her sentencing. The state had been seeking a 12-year sentence for the disgraced teacher.

Bergmann’s lawyers had been pushing for a one-year sentence.

“I want to make it absolutely clear that I take full accountability for every boundary that was crossed,” she said through tears. “I hope that your family has been able to begin to heal and find some peace in your lives again. I know the journey will be long for your family.”

She cried louder when she learned her sentence, according to KSTP.

“To his own credit, [my son] is like ‘I have to live with this forever. Whatever punishment she receives should be forever,’” the victim’s father said, according to KARE11. “When I review the texts too, it’s very deliberate — talking about touching his leg, talking to my 11-year-old son about her period, talking about his erections … to me it’s very disturbing stuff.”

Bergmann pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal from prosecutors that saw a number of charges against her dropped, including first-degree sexual assault of a child, using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, exposing a child to harmful descriptions, and additional counts of sexual misconduct by school staff and child enticement.

When she is released from prison in six years, Bergmann will need to register as a convicted sex offender. She will also be placed on six years of extended supervision and is barred from having contact with minors without approval. The court has also placed restrictions on her internet use, according to KARE11.

Marshawn Kneeland’s Girlfriend Breaks Her Silence Over Cowboys Star’s Death

The girlfriend of late Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marshawn Kneeland broke her silence after the NFL star’s sudden death.

“I’m grieving hard right now,” Catalina Mancera told the Daily Mail on Monday, November 10. “It will be a long time before I’ll feel ready to talk at any length.”

Mancera, 22, called the police the night before Kneeland’s death on the morning of Thursday, November 6. She expressed concern over Kneeland’s well-being, telling authorities her boyfriend had “a history of mental illness.”

After a brief police chase, Kneeland was found near his abandoned car on the Dallas Parkway, dead of an apparent suicide. He was 24 years old.

Cowboys’ Marshawn Kneeland Was Worried About Going to Prison Before Death

“We’re still in the early stages of everything,” Mancera added. “We are working on the funeral arrangements. I don’t know where it’s going to be yet.”

Kneeland was also survived by his father, Shawn, who is currently incarcerated in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and his three siblings: brothers, AJ and Shawn Jr., and sister, Yahmya

The football star’s mother, Wendy, died in February 2024, just two months before he was selected in the second round by the Cowboys in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Mancera, a fashion designer, has been staying at the Plano, Texas, apartment where Kneeland lived prior to his death.

Nicole Kneeland-Woods, Marshawn’s cousin, told the Daily Mail that the NFL player started dating Mancera while he was a student-athlete at Western Michigan University.

“Marshawn shared a very special relationship with Catalina, whom he had been with since his sophomore year of college,” she said. “They supported each other through many stages of life. Catalina is an important part of our family and she’s hurting deeply too.”

Despite what 911 dispatchers allege Catalina told them, Nicole said, “There were no previous signs or indications that Marshawn was dealing with mental issues.”

“Marshawn was a strong, loving person who cared deeply about his family and everyone around him,” Nicole added.

In addition to the death of his mother, Marshawn also lost his grandfather in 2023, which Nicole said was “was incredibly hard for him.”

“But beyond that grief, Marshawn didn’t show signs of depression or mental health issues,” Nicole explained. “Our family is devastated and still trying to process something that feels unimaginable. We want people to remember Marshawn for his kindness, his sense of humor and his drive. He was loved deeply and that love will always be his legacy.”

Former Coach of Marshawn Kneeland Recalls Final Chat Days Before His Death

Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, broke his silence about Marshawn’s death on Tuesday, November 11.

“I think we all have unfettered feelings about the people we love, people we work with, and this is just a time when you acknowledge that there’s no answers,” Jones, 83, said on Dallas’ 105.3 The Fan. “It makes you want to live life to the fullest. It makes you want to look for the very best in what we have for each other. And in some way make sense out of these times in terms of what they can mean from helping those that are here on earth right now.”

Jones added, “All of those things are very natural, come to mind, but his death is such a national awareness thing that it takes on some of that light when we think about how we go forward.”

Why 1 Mom Launched OnlyFans Weeks Before She Was Fired From Teaching Job

Sarah Juree was looking for an extra way to rake in cash for her household when she launched her OnlyFans account — while also serving as a teacher at a local school.

“I was just a struggling single mom on a teacher salary, so it wasn’t this deviant thing,” Juree, 44, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her new book, Diary of an OnlyFans Model.

“There was a woman in town, and she had started a page, and she had made, like, $10,000 in a month,” Juree continued. “So in my mind, I was like, ‘Well, what if I try this on summer break and see how it goes?’ I had never been on the platform. Really didn’t know much, anything about it. I was like, ‘Well, if I could have two good months like that, I could pay my credit card debt off.’”

Juree went on to create her account, sharing an NSFW photo — and her life was turned upside down within weeks. She claimed that a user “dispersed” her image “all over” social media and to her employer, resulting in her firing from her job as a teacher.

Teen Mom’s Jenelle Evans Has Made $1.5 Million on OnlyFans in 4 Years

“It just happened really, really fast,” she recalled. “That was such a whirlwind. There was a lot of grief for me because I loved being a teacher. That was my identity, that was my career that I had put my life into. I was a teacher for 20 years. It was a whirlwind, and I think that was why I needed to kind of take a step back from OnlyFans. I took the last two years off to really just go and heal and process and sort, like, ‘What the heck happened?’”

Juree explained that she had a “lot of complex PTSD” — known as post-traumatic stress disorder — and struggled with suicidal ideation following the incident.

“Where I am in Indiana, it’s like, I’m the scarlet letter of the town,” she said. “But I take it very personally, because I feel like I also get to be the permission slip for women in town. The women who want to explore their sexuality, who see me and I’m not backing down from this and I’m not just running away in shame.”

Juree eventually turned to alternative ways of healing, including ketamine therapy — and words began “pouring out” of her.

“I think it shows people your story is not over,” she said of her journey to becoming an author. “You get to be the author of your story, literally. You get to show the world who you are, and at any given point in time, you can give this world a plot twist. So now it’s, like, ‘Teacher turned OnlyFans model turned author.’”

Through it all, Juree has had her loved ones by her side — including her 13-year-old twins.

“My family has been very supportive, thank goodness. The trickier part is my kids because they’re twins and they’re teens now. They’re 13. It is something that I have always kept separate — what I do if I was making content and stuff, then Mom mode,” Juree explained of balancing both. “But I want my book to make my kids proud. Where I can turn something that was so wild and crazy into something good for us.”

Diary of an OnlyFans Model is out now.
