LONDON—(Maravipost)—The dedication and passion of James Chiutsi to develop para-sports both locally and internationally has not gone unnoticed.

Malawi Paralympic Committee President James Chiutsi has been conferred an honorary Doctorate degree by the prestigious Loughborough University of London.

This esteemed recognition honors Chiutsi’s outstanding contributions to the development of sports for people with disabilities, as well as his tireless efforts in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The honorary Doctorate was awarded at a ceremony held at Loughborough University’s London campus a week ago, which Chiutsi attended in person. As a champion of equality, Chiutsi has made a profound impact not only in sports but also in the small-scale business sector.

His leadership and expertise have earned him numerous awards, international appointments, and recognition, including roles with the African Union Sports Council Region 5 and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Upon receiving the honor, Chiutsi expressed his humility: “I am very humbled, and I receive this degree on behalf of all the people we serve.

“Let me urge fellow graduates to strive for a world where everyone can thrive. One can only enjoy life if those around them are enjoying it too.”

The Malawi Paralympic Committee has since congratulated Chiutsi on this well-deserved recognition.
