Inside Married Ice Dancing Duo Madison Chock and Evan Bates’ Romance

Madison Chock and Evan Bates both remember the moment everything changed.

The Team USA ice dancers — widely regarded as the best duo in the world and the favorites to win gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy — were originally paired together in 2011.

Over time, however, their professional partnership blossomed into something more.

“There’s definitely a moment that I recall,” Bates, 36, exclusively told Us Weekly alongside Chock, 33, via their partnership with Nulo. “We skated together for five years and it was just a friendship, but the friendship was good. From day one we always had a connection. We were laughing, we enjoyed our time together. It made skating so fun. Over the five years, we had success, but also didn’t have success. We had a lot of trying times. In those trying times, I really realized how much I relied on Maddie and really felt connected to her in a way that went beyond just as a skating partner.”

Olympic Ice Dancers Evan Bates and Madison Chock’s Relationship Timeline

As the pair prepared to compete at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Bates had the impression “it was going to be the end of the road for us as a career.”

“I remember thinking, ‘I can’t really imagine one day walking out of the rink and going our separate ways, being friends and just not seeing each other anymore,’’’ Bates said. “I made the realization, I shared the realization and, luckily, the realization was reciprocated. That changed everything in our relationship and our partnership.”

Bates added, “Since that moment, we’ve been pretty much inseparable.”

Chock remembers the moment, too, admitting she was “so surprised” by Bates’ admission.

“It really just came out of the blue for me,” she told Us. “I knew we always had an incredible chemistry. We had so much fun together. We were great friends. Training was always fun because we always just got along. We had the same work ethic. But when he told me how he felt, I was so surprised because I didn’t see it coming at all.”

Chock continued, “When I really sat with it and thought about it, I was like, ‘Wait a minute. I feel the same things about you. This is incredible.’”

The couple got married in Hawaii in June 2024.

“Our day-to-day life is certainly very similar, if not completely unchanged with training and our typical routine that we have gotten used to over the years,” Chock said of life as husband and wife. “But I would say after we got married there was definitely a shift in the emotional connection and pull towards each other. It’s definitely much stronger.”

Chock added, “It’s very rooted in love and our commitment to each other, and our commitment in wanting to continue to improve as people moving forward and be the best partners we can be to each other.”

With the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, on the horizon, Chock and Bates have partnered with Nulo’s “Fuel Incredible” campaign, designed to highlight the unique bond between athletes and their pets.

Team USA’s Dating Histories: Inside the Winter Olympians’ Love Lives

Chock and Bates are parents to toy poodles Stella, 13, and Henry, 9.

“Henry and Stella are a huge part of our lives,” Chock said. “Skating is a huge part, but Henry and Stella are right there along with us. They’re really an active part of our entire day.”

During training, Chock said both dogs “come with us to the rink on a daily basis.”

‘When we have a break, they run around and they greet everybody in the locker room,” Chock explained. “They just brighten spirits at the rink when everyone’s going through the ringer. Doing their run-throughs, having some grueling training sessions. Henry and Stella bring everybody so much joy.”

‘Big Brother’ Host Julie Chen Moonves Reacts to Alum Mickey Lee’s Death

Big Brother 27 player Mickey Lee was born with a hole in her heart, she told host Julie Chen Moonves during a September appearance on her “God 101” podcast. One day after Lee’s death at age 35, Chen Moonves, 55, reflected on their discussion.

“Two months ago I interviewed Mickey Lee on ‘God 101,’” Chen Moonves wrote via Instagram on Friday, December 26. “That’s when she revealed to me that she was born with a hole in her heart, and as an adult she survived an ATV accident that should have killed her, but God kept her alive.”

She continued, “Last night God brought her home 🕊️ Rest In Peace dear Mickey. I will see you again on the other side in eternity. I pray the good Lord comforts and heals your family and loved ones as we grieve your passing. Amen 🙏🏼.”

Lee died on Thursday, December 25, after being hospitalized following multiple cardiac arrests. She had been battling complications from the flu and was in “critical but stable” condition, her family reported on Monday, December 22.

Why Jimmy Blames Morgan Over Mickey for His ‘Big Brother’ Eviction

The family broke the news of Mickey’s death on Friday morning via her Instagram account.

“With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” their statement read.

“Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike,” the statement continued. “She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of so many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen.”

Mickey spent 59 days in the Big Brother house during the summer of 2025 and was the last player to be evicted before the jury phase began. She was best known for using her “HoH Interrogator” power to dethrone Rylie Jeffries and subsequently nominate him for eviction. She stumbled, however, when she was convinced to also nominate her ally, Jimmy Heagerty, who was ultimately evicted when Rylie, 27, won his way off the chopping block.

Mickey’s family had also launched a GoFundMe when they first revealed her illness in an effort to offset medical costs. As of Friday morning, it had raised more than $32,000.

“Many of you know Mickey Lee from Big Brother (CBS) where she became one of the most talked about houseguests on Season 27,” their statement read at the time. “A vibrant, strategic and unforgettable personality, Mickey captured the attention of fans with her energy, authenticity and bold gameplay. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and based in Atlanta, Georgia, she brought charm and fierce competition to the Big Brother house as an event curator and creative force.”

Her fellow Big Brother 27 players began posting tributes to their fellow houseguest as the news began to spread.

Reality TV Tragedies: The Saddest and Most Shocking Deaths

“Forever my girl. Rest in power, Micks,” Jimmy, 25, wrote via his Instagram Story over a photo of the two of them having a drink together.

“Was hoping for different news regarding Mickey,” fourth-place finisher Ava Pearl added via her Instagram Story. “A genuine tragedy for anyone to pass as young as she did, wishing her friends and family peace, respect, and privacy during this time. No matter what, we lost a member of the Big Brother family and she will be missed.”

Us Weekly has reached out to CBS for comment.

Tom Brady Hints He Feels ‘Forever Young’ After Ex Gisele Bundchen’s Wedding

Tom Brady has seemingly offered a glimpse of his mindset amid the news that his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, has gotten married again.

Brady, 48, uploaded a selfie in his car to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, December 20, where he sported a white “Forever Young” hoodie.

“Yuppppppp 💯,” the former NFL quarterback captioned his upload, setting the post to Logic’s song “1-800-273-8255.”

While Brady did not further explain the meaning of his post, it comes hours after Us Weekly confirmed that Bündchen, 45, married her boyfriend, Joaquim Valente, earlier in December.

Gisele Bundchen Recalls ‘Heartbreaking’ Tom Brady Divorce, Teases New Love

The supermodel started dating Valente, 38, nearly a year after she and Brady divorced.

“This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” Bündchen told The New York Times in March 2024, detailing the origins of her romance. “It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.”

Bündchen further stressed that there hadn’t been any overlap in her respective relationships with Brady and Valente.

“That is a lie. This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” she said, shutting down affair speculation. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”

Bündchen and Valente later welcomed their first child together, a baby boy whose name has not been publicly revealed, in February. Bündchen is already mom of son Benjamin, 16, and daughter Vivian, 13, whom she shares with Brady.

“There’s definitely some challenges and there’s a lot of blessings, and I think just us as parents, we’re just trying to help them navigate a little bit,” Brady, who also shares 18-year-old son Jack with ex Bridget Moynahan, exclusively told Us in 2024 about raising his kids. “There’s a lot of cool things, a lot of things that are maybe a little tricky, but you just got to deal with it all in the best way you can.”

He added, “I think giving them perspective all the time is really important. They’re kids, so we’re all human. We’re all going through stuff, so they’re going through their own set of unique experiences and you just try to give them the right perspective on the things that you’ve experienced and that you can correlate to their life.”

According to Brady, he’s hopeful that his three children will eventually find “a life of purpose.”

“As parents, we just want our kids to do better than us, and I think that’s for all of us. My parents did that for me,” the football GOAT explained at the time. “I want to try to guide my kids into a life of purpose and one that they can find their joy and happiness and create a life and a family together with someone and find things they love to do when they wake up in the morning.”

7 Best Hallmark Christmas Movies to Watch Right Now, Ranked

The Hallmark Channel is far and away the best place to find the corniest, cheesiest holiday movies.

And during the Christmas season, that’s just what many people are looking for. They want to light a Yankee candle, brew some peppermint tea and sink into a world where beautiful people get just what they want for Christmas.

Watch With Us loves a good Hallmark Christmas movie, so we decided to do a civil service and rank the very best ones you can watch right now on Hallmark+.

Did your favorites make the cut? Read on to find out!

Every Holiday Movie on TV This 2025 Season: Hallmark, Netflix and Lifetime

Humble seamstress Emily (Lacey Chabert) devotes herself to her family’s Philadelphia business, but she finds her world turned upside-down when she discovers that her European boyfriend, Leopold (Stephen Hagan), is a royal prince and heir to the throne of a small sovereign country. Leopold takes Emily back to his home to met his family for Christmas with intent to marry her. However, Leopold’s mother has other plans for him.

With some The Princess Diaries sprinkled in, A Royal Christmas hits all the notes you want from a royalty-themed Christmas Hallmark movie: everyone learns a lesson, everyone looks beautiful, love prevails and, of course, the beautiful gowns. Plus, Chabert and Jane Seymour shine in the film.

Estranged identical twin sisters Kate and Christ Lockhart (both played by Candace Cameron Brue) are stuck planning their respective holiday parties when they decide to switch things up. In order to see if one twin has things better than the other — and unbeknownst to their families — the twins swap lives, and the lessons they learn from the experience may just make for the best Christmas they’ve ever had.

Switched for Christmas makes for an adorable Christmas tale of family, friendship and learning to understand and appreciate your loved ones — and what would a Hallmark movie be without a little romance as well? It doesn’t hurt that the movie has a good sense of humor too, and with Cameron Brue playing an impressive dual role.

In a gambit to give his parents a good Christmas, speech writer Jaime (Tyler Hynes) makes a deal with his ex-girlfriend Emily (Bethany Joy Lenz) to come home with him for the holidays and pretend that they’re still together. However, it doesn’t take much before the act starts to unravel — especially when they realize their dormant feelings for one another are coming back.

This is a great Christmas Hallmark movie to watch for some silly antics, as Jaime and Emily do their best to maintain their week-long ruse in front of Jaime’s family, but it ends on a heartfelt note when the two exes realize they still love each other. Lenz and Hynes have wonderful, believable chemistry, and the film sports the perfect warm and festive holiday atmosphere.

Bachelor Zachary Stone (Brandon Routh) is only committed to one thing, and that’s being single. But when a stray cat winds up on his doorstep, he starts to realize that a little company in his day-to-day life might not be so bad. However, things take an unexpectedly romantic turn when he meets Marilee (Kimberly Sustad), a veterinary student who helps teach him how to take care of his new feline friend. Can the two make it work despite their differences?

The Nine Lives of Christmas is a fun rom-com with the perfect amount of schmaltz, made all the more enjoyable by Routh and his dynamic with Sustad. The movie is an ideal, easy Christmas watch, with some critics even feeling that the script and characters were better written than the book it was based on.

Hardworking single mom Jennifer (Brooke Burns) has become a bit of a Scrooge around Christmas, and her young son barely believes in Santa Claus. However, when her Uncle Ralph (Henry Winkler) brings over a man named Morgan (Warren Christie) whom he met on his flight, Jen and Morgan hit it off, but Morgan doesn’t like Jen’s attitude towards the holiday. For them to make it work, Morgan has to teach Jen how to get into the Christmas spirit.

While The Most Wonderful Time of the Year features a fairly familiar premise, it’s executed in a refreshing way through its smart scriptwriting, genuinely funny moments and the inclusion of Happy Days legend Henry Winkler. With fun, mismatched chemistry between Burns and Christie and a brisk script, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is a Christmas movie highlight.

The premise of the 1987 Tom Selleck movie Three Men and a Baby gets a Christmas twist in Three Wise Men and a Baby, when three brothers named Stephen (Paul Campbell), Taylor (Hynes) and Luke (Andrew W. Walker) find themselves stuck caring for a baby over the holidays. After an abandoned infant is left at the doorstep of Luke’s work, the brothers, who have grown apart over the years, must now work together in an unexpected situation.

Well-written, genuinely funny and featuring a terrific cast, Three Wise Men and a Baby is a Hallmark holiday favorite for a reason. The characters are believable and have well-developed relationships with one another, and the movie balances the perfect mix of humor and heartfelt moments.

Screenwriter Lucy Hardgrove (Joy Lenz) has been hired to write the script for a remake of a beloved Christmas classic filmed at the historic Biltmore house. However, when Lucy’s script isn’t up to studio standards, she’s sent to the house for inspiration — where she finds herself traveling back in time to 1947 when His Merry Wife! was filmed. As she uses it as a chance to learn more about the film, she gets cozy with one of the stars, but her presence in the past threatens the film’s future.

Hallmark’s ‘Countdown to Christmas’ Lineup Includes More Than 20 New Movies

Many consider A Biltmore Christmas to be the ultimate Hallmark holiday classic, but also a fantastic Christmas movie in its own right. The plot frees itself from many tired Christmas tropes while still hitting the right beats and heartfelt moments. The music, sets, costuming and performances all come together to make A Biltmore Christmas can’t-miss during the holidays.

Late Selena Quintanilla’s Father, Abraham Quintanilla, Dead at 86

Abraham Quintanilla, the father of late singer Selena Quintanilla, has died. He was 86.

“It’s with a heavy heart to let you guys know that my Dad passed away today…,” the late singer’s brother, Abraham “A.B.” Isaac Quintanilla, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, December 13, announcing his father’s death. Abraham’s son also shared a photo of his father, wearing rose-colored sunglasses.

The cause of death has not been made public.

Selena’s father married her mother, Marcella Quintanilla, in June 1963. In addition to their famous daughter and A.B., the pair also welcomed daughter Suzette.

Jon Seda Is ‘Still Friends’ With Chris Perez After Playing Him in ‘Selena’

Abraham took on the role of Selena’s manager as her music career took off. Her musical rise was truly a family enterprise, as A.B. played the bass and Suzette played the drums in her band.

In 2021, Abraham shared excerpts from his memoir A Father’s Dream: My Family’s Journey in Music with 3News. He also told the news station of the book, “It has a lot of things in there the public wants to know. Because there’s always been, and now it’s grown even more curiosity about Selena.”

He added, “You have to understand that people have sometimes the wrong image of musicians. But they forget one thing: that being involved in music is also a business, and for me it was a business, it became a business.”

While speaking about the beginning of Selena’s career, Abraham reflected on what the experience was like for the entire family. “At first it was a dream and then within time it became a reality because Selena became one of the leading female artists in the world,” he said

Selena was shot dead in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 23 by her former friend and business associate Yolanda Saldívar, who was also accused of embezzling money from the singer’s business in the months that preceded the shooting.

Coroners ruled the death a homicide despite Saldívar’s claim it was accidental.

Us Weekly obtained the original 1995 report that confirmed that Selena died from a bullet wound to her lower right shoulder. The coroner further confirmed Selena died from “exsanguinating internal and external [bleeding] due to [a] perforating gunshot wound.”

“It is my opinion that Selena Quintanilla Pérez, a 23-year-old woman, came to her death as a result of an exsanguinating internal and external hemorrhage, in other words massive bleeding, due to a perforating gunshot wound of the thorax (chest),” coroner Lloyd White wrote.

Saldívar was charged with first-degree murder and was convicted in October 1995. Despite making a parole request in December 2024, as of November 2025, Saldívar has not been released from custody. Saldívar has served her sentence at a women’s prison in Gatesville, Texas.

“It was the parole panel’s determination to deny parole to Yolanda Saldívar and set her next parole review for March 2030,” the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles confirmed via a statement obtained by Us.

“While nothing can bring Selena back, this decision reaffirms that justice continues to stand for the beautiful life that was taken from us and from millions of fans around the world far too soon,” the Quintanillas said via Instagram at the time. “Selena’s legacy is one of love, music, and inspiration. She lived with joy, gave selflessly, and continues to uplift generations with her voice and her spirit.”

Blue Bloods’ Andrew Terraciano Breaks Silence on the Spinoff Recasting Sean

Blue Bloods star Andrew Terraciano has finally opened up about passing down the role of Sean Reagan after the character was recast in the Boston Blue spinoff.

“It’s beautiful because you’ll always remember every single line and every day that you had the opportunity to be that character,” Terraciano, 22, exclusively told Us Weekly about his time on the hit CBS series. “It doesn’t mean for even a second that somebody else can’t go and do something beautiful with it.”

Terraciano expressed gratitude for his time on Blue Bloods. “I got the joy of playing Sean, and I got to send him off into the world,” he noted. “Now somebody else gets that joy. We’re both getting to show what we do and then send Sean off into the world.”

CBS viewers have gotten very familiar with Terraciano after he got his start playing Donnie Wahlberg‘s onscreen son. The actor appeared in nearly 300 episodes from 2010 to 2024 before the show came to an end. Blue Bloods expanded into Boston Blue, but the role of Sean was recast with newcomer Mika Amonsen.

Boston Blue’s Recasting of Donnie Wahlberg’s Son From ‘Blue Bloods’ Explained

“I had somebody call me — actually the day that I was graduating — and they had spoken to my mom and she called me [crying]. They were like, ‘They might be looking for a different Sean,’” Terraciano recalled how he learned the news initially. “Shortly after we got the news, Donnie called me. It was a really beautiful moment of getting to hear from an old friend but also somebody that you respect so much and have learned so much from.”

Terraciano appreciated hearing from Wahlberg, telling Us, “We had such an amazing experience on Blue Bloods that when we talk we’ll always be friends and family first. I’m happy that there are so many other people that now get to share in that amazing experience.”

While Terraciano has yet to watch Boston Blue as he focuses on his studies — he is looking forward to checking in.

“I’m going to give it the time and the respect that it deserves,” he noted. “[But in terms of returning in some capacity] I said it to Donnie on the phone. If he says the word, I’ll be there. Not just with Blue Bloods or Boston Blue but with anything in life.”

As Boston Blue has proven to Us, Sean Reagan’s legacy on Blue Bloods has made him beloved to the fans. Terraciano wasn’t expecting the outpouring of love that ensued once he wrapped up his run in the fan favorite role — but he is grateful for the support now.

“I can’t say that I expected it but I appreciate it,” he shared. “It’s so meaningful to know that people love the character that I got to share in creating. I didn’t expect it to say the least.”

When Us spoke to Amonsen in a separate interview, he shared the way he wanted to pay tribute to Terraciano, who was grateful for the thought.

“I appreciate it because not only has there been such an outcry of love from the community but there’s also a very clear love coming to the show,” he explained. “It’s hundreds if not thousands of people who depend on their livelihood for a show to be made. It really is amazing that part of that character remains. Somebody can look back and say, ‘I want to pay homage to that. I want to respect that and I want to work on making something beautiful.’”

Relive the ‘Blue Bloods’ Cast’s Sweetest Moment On and Off Camera

Terraciano made it clear that he walked away from the Blue Bloods set with years-worth of meaningful memories.

“The role provided me with such an insight into not only my own life but the lives of so many others. Because every time that you’re acting, you are learning so much about yourself and about the other person,” he explained. “So when you act with the same people for so long, you get such a deep understanding and you develop such a love for them.”

Blue Bloods
Instagram

In addition to Wahlberg, Terraciano got to share the screen with costars such as Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Len Cariou, Will Estes, Marisa Ramirez and Vanessa Ray.

“If they had asked us, I’m sure every single person in the cast would have happily stayed [on Blue Bloods] for the rest of our lives. When we found out that it was the end, I don’t think any of us really let ourselves accept for even a moment that it was a real thing that was ending,” he told Us. “When we had our last dinner scene, we just sat there. For half an hour we just went around the table telling the same old jokes that we had a thousand times before and asking the same questions that we had a thousand times before. None of us were willing to be the first to get up.”

For Terraciano, Blue Bloods provided him with a TV family. He recalled to Us how “emotionally devastating” it felt to film the finale — and how the cast has remained in each other’s lives since then.

‘Blue Bloods’ Cast Has Changed a lot From Season 1 to Season 14: A Look Back

“It was coming to terms with the thought that this opportunity is changing very, very significantly. But because of having had that opportunity, you are all getting propelled into the future in such a beautiful way,” he recalled. “I’m still in touch with a lot of people from the cast and crew. I speak to them fairly often. I’ve made a lot of friends through Blue Bloods that I will never lose.”

The hit CBS series also gave him the role of a lifetime.

Blue Bloods

“After knowing these people for 15 years, you go out into the world with everything that they’ve given you and you hope that you’ve given them something,” he gushed. “You hold them in your heart and that they’re never gone. It was a weird kind of grief — but Sean had grown into his own thing.”

He continued: “Sean had become who he needed to be by the end of the show. So I was happy to send a character off into the world and I was happy to send my loving friends off into the world.”

Terraciano is currently getting his Masters — but he is also looking forward to other opportunities that may come his way.

“At the end of last spring, I got the fantastic opportunity to work in a dear friend director Sabrina Carlier’s rendition of Annie Baker’s The Antipodes. Not only did I have that amazing opportunity that was my first play that I’ve ever been in but it really pulled me into the theater world,” he explained. “It showed me how much love I have for all forms of acting. I helped produce a friend’s short film recently, and I look forward to every opportunity that I get to act.”

He continued: “You get a passion and you can’t get rid of it to continue to act and continue to participate in creating in any way, shape or form. I would love more than anything to be an actor for the rest of my life. But I’m a huge Star Wars fanatic so I would really do anything [in that universe]. And I would love to try out a sitcom.”

Blue Bloods is streaming on Paramount+.
