JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, December 19, 2025/ — The Coca-Cola Company (www.Coca-ColaCompany.com) and FIFA are kicking off the sixth FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, giving thousands of fans across the globe the opportunity to see the original FIFA World Cup™ Trophy ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026™. FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the biggest yet – spanning three host nations, Canada, Mexico and the United States, with more teams, more matches and more celebrations than ever before. 

As a long-standing partner of FIFA, Coca-Cola has the exclusive rights to the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola. Beginning Jan. 3, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the original FIFA World Cup Trophy will visit 30 FIFA Member Associations across 75 stops and more than 150 tour days, giving fans around the world a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see football’s most coveted prize.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will visit all three FIFA World Cup 2026 host countries and future FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup™ host nations including Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Saudi Arabia and Brazil. At each stop, local communities will have access to unique fan engagement opportunities, from immersive brand experiences and interactive football challenges to exclusive content with FIFA Legends. 

The 2026 tour marks 20 years of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola. Over this period, more than 4 million fans across more than 182 markets worldwide have participated.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Police in Lilongwe have arrested a fervent football fan for acts deemed intended to cause grievous harm after he accidentally dropped a five-year-old boy while throwing him in the air in celebration of Wanderers FC’s defeat to Mzuzu City Hammers.

Speaking with MaraviPost publication, Lilongwe Police Inspector Hestings Chigalu said the incident occurred on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at around 17:00 hours at Shire Bus Depot in the capital.

The suspect has been identified as Oscar Wiga, 29 years old.

The child was with his mother at the bus terminal waiting to board a bus destined for Blantyre when Oscar, who was caught up in the euphoria following Mighty Wanderers FC’s unexpected loss to Mzuzu City Hammers, seized a five-year-old child from his mother and began tossing him high into the air while cheering.

However, on the third throw, amid the thrilling laughs and cheers that filled the air, Oscar’s grip faltered.

The child slipped from his hands and fell to the ground, landing with considerable force , causing immediate concern and alarm.

The boy was rushed to Bwaila District Hospital, where he was treated for injuries he sustained during the fall.

The victim’s mother, who, despite having already purchased her travel ticket, was unable to continue with her journey to Blantyre due to the distressing circumstances.

Oscar, who does not share any relationship with the victim’s family, has since been charged with Acts Intended to Cause Grievous Harm.

He comes from Koloko Village, Traditional Authority Mlumbe in Zomba District.

LILONGWE -(Maravipost)- The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture has hailed Rits Holdings for donating a set of uniforms and track suits to the Malawi Men’s National Netball Team.

The spokesperson for the ministry, Macmillan Mwale said” The donation will motivate the players, When partners like these come on the board to support us during such big events, we appreciate it. The support will go a long way in motivating the team. They will play with confidence and deliver good results”.

Logistical Company Ritz Holdings corporate affairs manager Blessings Symon said the donation, was made after establishing that the men’s team does not enjoy the same support as the women’s team.

“Malawi is hosting the continental cup, We thought it wise to help the King’s. Hence decided to buy the kit and track suits to inspire and motivate them. The donation is worth K5.2 million “, He said.

The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) President Vitumbiko Gubuduza speaking at the ceremony which took place at the Lilongwe Golden Peacock Hotel said the donation is timely and will inspire the players.

The donation came just a day after the official sponsors of the Malawi National Netball team, Nico Group, announced that every player member of the Queens in the Africa Netball Cup will get K250,000 as a participating fee.

The African Netball Tournament is slated for 8th-14th December in Lilongwe at the Griffin Saenda Indoor Sports Complex.
