2025 Muslim Arts Awards voting opens as The Maravi Post’ Journalist Shaffie Mtambo gets nominated for Online Media Personality

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Muslim Arts Awards have officially announced the list of nominees for the 2025 edition, which will feature fifteen highly competitive categories.

The annual event continues to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements in arts, culture and media within the Muslim community across Malawi.

Speaking to The Maravi Post, Spokesperson of Muslim Arts Awards, Bashir Amini, confirmed that the nomination process has been successfully completed, paving the way for public voting to begin.

Mtambo nominated for Online Media Personality

He revealed that voting officially opened on the night of November 2 and will close on November 24, 2025.

According to Amini, the voting process has been simplified to ensure easy access for everyone interested in supporting their favorite personalities and organizations.

“Each person is allowed to vote only once. To vote, simply open Google Chrome and search for www.muslimawardsmw.com.

“Once on the site, click on the menu, select vote then select your preferred category for example, Media Personality Online and choose your nominee such as Shaffie A. Mtambo,” he explained.

He emphasized that transparency and fairness remain central to the awards’ mission, ensuring that winners truly reflect the voice of the people.

The voting platform, Amini added, has been designed to prevent multiple votes from a single user, promoting credibility in the final results.

Among the categories generating the most excitement this year is the Media Personality Online Award.

This category has attracted notable names including Shaffie A. Mtambo of The Maravi Post, Nerson Gonjani from Times Group, Abdul Karonga of TNA Times and Amirddin Mvula from Amir TV.

The competition is expected to be intense, as all four nominees have played a vital role in shaping digital media and public discourse in Malawi.

The Muslim Arts Awards have become one of the most respected platforms for promoting creativity and positive influence among Muslims in Malawi.

Since their inception, the awards have not only highlighted local talent but also encouraged unity and cultural pride within the community.

The awards night is set to take place in the commercial city of Blantyre, at the luxurious Amaryllis Hotel on 19 December 2025.
