Aryna Sabalenka fell just short of the biggest single payday in women’s tennis history, losing to Elena Rybakina in the WTA Finals on Saturday, November 8.
After the match, cameras caught the player in tears while microphones picked up her trash talking her opponent.
Sabalenka, 27, smashed her racket and receded to her chair after her defeat. Amid her frustration, she muttered in Russian, “Once a year even the stick shoots,” according to video shared on social media.
The phrase is a Russian idiom that implies Sabalenka believes Rybakina’s success was a fluke, rather than a result of her skill.
Once she cooled down, Sabalenka was able to give credit to Rybakina, 26.
“I am getting old, I am getting really sensitive,” Sabalenka said during the trophy ceremony. “So many things to be proud of. Not the best performance, she was definitely the better player. She literally smashed me out of the court.”

Even in defeat, Sabalenka set a WTA record for earnings in a single season. The $2.695 million she took home for her runner-up finish brought her 2025 total to $15 million, shattering the previous mark of $12.385 million set by Serena Williams in 2013.
One of the highlights of Sabalenka’s season came at the 2025 U.S. Open, where she won her second straight championship in women’s singles, defeating Amanda Anisimova in the final.
Sabalenka struck a different tone after that match compared to her outburst at the WTA Finals, praising Anisimova, 24, and wishing her opponent luck as her career continues.
“Congrats Amanda on reaching back to back Slam final [Wimbledon and US Open],” Sabalenka said during an on-court interview. “I know how much it hurts, losing in the final. But trust me, the moment you’re going to win the first one — and you are going to win it. You play incredible tennis!”
She added, “Congrats to you and your team on the things you’ve achieved after your comeback. Girl, you’re gonna enjoy it even more after the tough losses in the final.”
Looking back at that moment and others, Sabalenka took to Instagram on Sunday, November 9, posting a carousel of photos from the year.
“And that’s a wrap on the 2025 season!” she wrote in the caption. “This was a tough year, but incredibly rewarding. A Grand Slam title, World #1 for the second consecutive year 🤯, and a few trophies later… I couldn’t have done it without Team Tiger — the people that are by my side time and time again. I’ve learned so many lessons this year through the ups and the downs of every single tournament and the training in between. Beyond blessed and grateful for it all. ♥️ 2026 season — bring it on 💪🏼”
“One more meu amor!” her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, wrote in the comments. “Can’t wait for 2026.”
Sabalenka and Frangulis first met in January 2024, going Instagram official that July. Speaking to Us Weekly exclusively in June 2025, she explained what it meant to have his support amid a grueling tennis season.
“His support means so much to me,” she told Us. “Being on the road and having him support me, to make me laugh and to be able to workout together, makes life on the road feel more like home.”

TiffanyHaddish is not shutting down the idea of having a baby anytime soon.
Haddish, 45, exclusively spoke with Us Weekly on Tuesday, October 28, at the 2025 PAC NYC ICONS of CULTURE Gala at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York. The comedian and actress told Us about the baby “agreement” she has with her “gay homeboy” JasonLee.
“We have this whole agreement [that] when he wants to have a baby or whatever, I’m going to carry the baby,” Haddish told Us. “I’ve always been saying to him, let’s have a baby. Let’s have a baby.”
Haddish and Lee, 47, sent the internet into a frenzy back in August when the two shared a photo on Instagram of them posing with an infant. The post, which now has over 246,000 likes and 4,000 comments, was captioned: “Cats out the bag ❤️.” Many fans and fellow celebrities were left wondering what this meant for the duo.
Haddish was married to WilliamStewart from 2008 until she filed for divorce in 2011. The divorce was finalized two years later. Haddish dated rapper Common from 2020 to 2021 after they met on the set of action-comedy The Kitchen, in which they starred alongside ElisabethMoss, DomhnallGleeson, MargoMartindale and more.
Haddish told The Washington Post in 2023 that Common, 53, was her “healthiest” relationship, despite him breaking up with her over the phone.
“[It was] the healthiest, the funnest [sic] relationship I’ve ever had,” Haddish shared in the interview with The Post. “It’s where I felt safest out of all the relationships I’ve ever had.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever f*** a movie star. Ever,” Haddish said. “I fed an entertainer. I don’t think I’ll ever do that again. I think I’ll f one again, but never in a relationship.”
Haddish told Us that a future partner needs to have a “good credit score,” and also be an “excellent communicator.”
“They need to have an EIN [Employer Identification Number]. I need to know that they know how to handle multiple personalities at one time,” Haddish said. “So that’s why I need them to have an EIN with employees and know how to motivate people to move forward to do great things. Cause that’s what I’m going to need.”
Haddish also provided recent insight on what else she’s looking for in future relationships in the trailer for her new Peacock series, Tiffany Haddish Goes Off. In the unscripted series, which is set to premiere on Thursday, November 13, Haddish and three of her childhood friends travel throughout Africa on the ultimate girls trip.
In the trailer, one of Haddish’s friends asks her, “What would you want your man to call you?” To which Haddish responds: “Empress of the universe.”
Inspired by the 2017 film Girls Trip, which starred Haddish alongside, ReginaHall, QueenLatifah and JadaPinkettSmith, the six-episode docuseries seems to include heartwarming moments between Haddish and her girlfriends, SelenaMartin, ShermonaLong and SparkleClark, as well as a tease to a potential wedding ceremony with Haddish upfront and center.

Sarah Juree was looking for an extra way to rake in cash for her household when she launched her OnlyFans account — while also serving as a teacher at a local school.
“I was just a struggling single mom on a teacher salary, so it wasn’t this deviant thing,” Juree, 44, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her new book, Diary of an OnlyFans Model.
“There was a woman in town, and she had started a page, and she had made, like, $10,000 in a month,” Juree continued. “So in my mind, I was like, ‘Well, what if I try this on summer break and see how it goes?’ I had never been on the platform. Really didn’t know much, anything about it. I was like, ‘Well, if I could have two good months like that, I could pay my credit card debt off.’”
Juree went on to create her account, sharing an NSFW photo — and her life was turned upside down within weeks. She claimed that a user “dispersed” her image “all over” social media and to her employer, resulting in her firing from her job as a teacher.
“It just happened really, really fast,” she recalled. “That was such a whirlwind. There was a lot of grief for me because I loved being a teacher. That was my identity, that was my career that I had put my life into. I was a teacher for 20 years. It was a whirlwind, and I think that was why I needed to kind of take a step back from OnlyFans. I took the last two years off to really just go and heal and process and sort, like, ‘What the heck happened?’”
Juree explained that she had a “lot of complex PTSD” — known as post-traumatic stress disorder — and struggled with suicidal ideation following the incident.

“Where I am in Indiana, it’s like, I’m the scarlet letter of the town,” she said. “But I take it very personally, because I feel like I also get to be the permission slip for women in town. The women who want to explore their sexuality, who see me and I’m not backing down from this and I’m not just running away in shame.”
Juree eventually turned to alternative ways of healing, including ketamine therapy — and words began “pouring out” of her.
“I think it shows people your story is not over,” she said of her journey to becoming an author. “You get to be the author of your story, literally. You get to show the world who you are, and at any given point in time, you can give this world a plot twist. So now it’s, like, ‘Teacher turned OnlyFans model turned author.’”
Through it all, Juree has had her loved ones by her side — including her 13-year-old twins.
“My family has been very supportive, thank goodness. The trickier part is my kids because they’re twins and they’re teens now. They’re 13. It is something that I have always kept separate — what I do if I was making content and stuff, then Mom mode,” Juree explained of balancing both. “But I want my book to make my kids proud. Where I can turn something that was so wild and crazy into something good for us.”
Diary of an OnlyFans Model is out now.
